Who gave it permission to be Week Four?! There is too much to be done and not enough time to do it in! It is Tuesday afternoon, and my beautiful children are playing in the pool, and I have decided to sit out here and write the first Performing Arts blog entry.
Today was such a fabulous day. Tuesday is a day where I have a lot of Junior classes, which means composition practice and lots of improvisation and freeing exercises. Improvising in music is something that scares the pants off most adults. It requires that the musician be very comfortable in his or her surroundings, not scared of failing and confident in creatively playing with melody and rhythm. As with anything worth doing, it is very difficult at first, but with practice becomes easier! Congratulations to Mrs Bailey's class, who finished writing the melody for their class anthem today. First in the school to finish! Well done.
