I've been working my voice back in after having laryngitis this term, and so I have been doing lots of 'back to basics' vocal type activities. Laryngitis is complete loss of the voice due to sickness or misuse of the voice...or BOTH! My bouts of laryngitis are relativity few and far between, however when my voice goes it takes me at least 4 weeks to get back the sweetness and power that I am used to. It's very frustrating, as I love to sing so much. This video is a short and sweet 'tips' video from Evynne Hollens (find her on Youtube...she is incredible) on how to sing better. Remember when you are singing: * Singing starts in the breath....breath to and sing from your belly button. If you are running out of air, plan your breaths, or pick an easier song. * Relax, relax, relax. Nothing should hurt or strain. * Open you mouth * Articulate every single sound. And finally, it doesn't matter if you don't sound like your favourite idol. Every voice is different, and yours is a part of you. Find the way YOU sound, and work on improving that. Happy holidays everyone!

I have emailed, Facebook messaged and finally rung the Wakakirri office this morning, and the panel HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A DECISION and have needed the weekend and today to finalise the deliberation process....THAT MEANS IT IS CLOSE! News from Wakakirri this morning: "The short list should be released in the next 24 hours. The panel needed more time to deliberate." I have reset the timer on the Wakakirri tab up above...we should know TOMORROW! Senior Choir....amiright? Ha ha...
